1. Course Overview

This online course meets the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for the 6-hour adult driver education course.

By enrolling, you acknowledge and agree to the policies below specific to this course.


2. Course Duration and Timers

This course consists of:

  • 360 total minutes, including:
    • 300 minutes of instruction
    • 60 minutes of break/enrichment time

All instructional time is enforced through timers, and students may not skip ahead until the minimum time is completed for each section.


3. Testing and Grading Policy

  • You must complete chapter review quizzes to reinforce learning.
  • At the end of the course, you must pass a final exam consisting of at least 40 randomized questions.
  • A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.
  • If you fail the final exam:
    • You may retake it up to two more times, each with different questions.
    • If you fail the third attempt, you will be required to retake the entire course from the beginning.

4. Identity Verification

To comply with TDLR rules under TAC §84.505, your identity will be validated throughout the course using personal validation questions (PVQs).

  • These questions appear periodically during course progress.
  • You must answer each within 90 seconds.
  • If you miss more than 30% of the questions, you will be removed from the course and required to start over.

All PVQs, timestamps, and responses are securely logged.


5. Certificate of Completion

Upon successful course completion:

  • You will receive an ADE-1317 certificate.
  • Certificates are issued within 15 business days, but typically faster.
  • You must provide accurate personal information, including full legal name, date of birth, and driver license number (or permit ID if applicable).
  • Your certificate may be printed and submitted to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to obtain your driver license.

  • You must have a stable internet connection and a modern browser.
