Why Take a Driving Safety Course?

Driving Logic — Texas Driving Safety Course Provider CP1235 — provides the online driving safety course.

$25 course fee plus a $4 administrative and materials fee. These are Driving Logic charges, not state fees.

Obtain your court’s permission before enrolling for ticket dismissal. A course does not dismiss a citation by itself. Ask your insurer whether completing a driving safety course qualifies for a discount; availability and amount are determined by the insurer.

Texas Driving Safety Course Includes:

Online Course Access

When enrollment opens, follow the enrollment and access instructions. Complete all course requirements before a completion certificate can be earned.

Certificate After Completion

Your DS-230 certificate requires successful completion of all course requirements and checks. Texas requires issuance and delivery within 15 working days after successful completion. Follow your court’s submission instructions; no instant certificate is promised.

Clear Course Navigation

Use the course navigation to complete every required section and instructional minute. A clear layout does not reduce the six-hour course requirement.

Use Your Phone, Tablet, or Computer

The Texas driving safety course is online. You can pause and return to the course. Pausing does not reduce required time, and the course must be finished by your court’s deadline.

Plan time for all required instruction and assessments. Follow the course access and navigation instructions when enrollment opens.

Requirements and Eligibility

Eligibility depends on why you are taking the course. For ticket dismissal, obtain permission from the court handling your citation before enrolling.

Ask the court to confirm the rules that apply to your citation, driver-license status, insurance, prior course use and any exceptions. The court sets the completion deadline and required documents. Follow the court’s current instructions; this course does not itself dismiss a citation.
